Denver, CO – Pear Suite was named a 2024 Prime Health Innovation Challenge winner, earning funding from Prime Health and the Colorado Health Foundation.
With Medicaid reimbursement set to be available to community health workers (CHWs) in Colorado in July 2025, this opportunity provides support for Pear Suite to pilot its services with community-based organizations (CBOs) interested in utilizing the benefit.
“Colorado is an exciting market,” Pear Suite Strategic Initiatives Manager Andrew Lindbloom said. “We know that CHW services have a proven track record of improving health outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing individual well-being. With Medicaid CHW reimbursement, community organizations already delivering these impactful services will have the opportunity to generate additional revenue to reinvest in their programs and better serve clients across the state.”
Pear Suite has partnered with more than 100 CBOs in 24 states, helping CHWs, promotores, health representatives, doulas and others assess and address social drivers of health in a cost-effective, person-centered, and culturally and linguistically sensitive way. In California, and other states with Medicaid-sponsored CHW benefits in place, Pear Suite has also supported CBOs in billing managed care organizations (MCOs) for qualifying CHW services.
About the Prime Health Challenge
This competition included 24 companies presenting their innovative business models to over 40 judges from a variety of backgrounds. Evaluations were based on business, clinical, diversity, inclusivity, and social impact criteria, to find companies ready to improve healthcare and advance health innovation for marginalized communities in Colorado.
