Community Health Leader and Platform Provider Expanded Impact on Health Equity, Exceeding 175 Customers, Increasing Partnerships with Health Plans, and Investing in Community-Based Workforce
HONOLULU, HI – January 29, 2025 – Pear Suite, a digital health company working to empower community health workers (CHWs) and better address the social determinants of health (SDOH), achieved record-breaking growth in 2024.
Through their operating system for community health, the company now partners with over 175 community-based organizations and other healthcare providers with a 99% retention rate, underscoring its strong market presence and high user satisfaction. Fueled by policy changes enabling Medicaid reimbursement for community health workers, the company has expanded into new states, including Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, New Mexico, and others.
Pear Suite’s platform also now supports new provider types, including doulas and other birth workers, whole-person care and street medicine providers, and community care hubs.
To date, Pear Suite users have positively impacted over 100,000 lives and are on track to reach an additional 300,000 individuals in 2025 through new healthcare partnerships.
In the last year alone, Pear Suite contracted with 15 new health plans across three states, moving beyond the Medicaid market to also support commercial, Medicare, and Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) members. Pear Suite recently partnered with Rocket Doctor to deliver virtual medical care integrated with Pear Suite’s platform. This collaboration was launched in California, targeting the state’s 15 million Medi-Cal members, but plans to replicate this model in other states are in progress.
Pear Suite had multiple promotions and key appointments in recent months, which will help strengthen its capacity to scale reach and impact. This includes the addition of Julia Garcia, who has deep community health worker experience, as Head of Operations.
On the technology front, Pear Suite continues to improve platform functionality by prioritizing the needs and interests of its 1,000+ users. Platform enhancements introduced this year include per member per month billing to automate billing processes for multiple members and on-demand claim generation for bulk claims processing. Security improvements, such as multi-factor authentication & Google SSO were added, alongside expanded analytics features with graphs and customizable data metrics. Pear Suite also built an API integration to simplify data sharing and workflow automation, as well as access management tools to create customized permissions for different user roles.
Pear Suite’s commitment to addressing SDOH was recognized on a national stage when the company was named a Health Equity Rising Star by the Digital Health Hub Foundation at the HLTH conference in Las Vegas. The company was also honored to be named a winner of the Prime Health Innovation Challenge, earning funding to support pilot projects with Colorado community-based organizations. This expansion aligns with the state’s implementation of Medicaid Community Health Worker (CHW) reimbursement, launching in July 2025. Colby Takeda, Pear Suite’s co-founder and CEO, was also named a Top 50 in Digital Health by Rock Health.
Looking ahead, the company is set to offer new workforce enablement tools and resources, including wrap-around administrative, credentialing, contracting, and billing support for its growing network of community-based providers. Planned platform enhancements in 2025 will include increasing workflow efficiencies through generative AI, audio-to-text notetaking, and the release of a mobile application. Infrastructural improvements to better enable hub functionality and support billing in states where Medicaid reimbursement will soon become available will also be prioritized. Given the growing excitement for CHWs across the healthcare ecosystem, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for this skilled workforce, local CBOs, and the many organizations, like Pear Suite, that are dedicated to uplifting social care solutions.
